Napoli, the big and positive surprise of 2022-2023 Serie A season, continues to perform flawlessly! Luciano Spalletti’s team is 18 points behind second place, currently occupied by Inter. On the 25th matchday Napoli will play against Lazio at home and are aiming for their seventh consecutive league win. Victor Osimhen, probably the fittest striker in European football, has scored in each of his last eight league games! Lazio are 4th in Serie A, a position that secures the tickets for the next edition of the Champions League, and are coming off two consecutive wins, matches in which they did not concede a goal.

Inter are visited by Lecce, 16th in the table. Inter are not sure of second place in Serie A either, with Simone Inzaghi’s side currently just one point ahead of arch-rivals AC Milan, two points ahead of Lazio and three ahead of AS Roma. Speaking of Roma, José Mourinho’s side were on Tuesday night the protagonist of the biggest surprise of the current season. Despite starting as favourites in the duel with Cremonese, Roma lost 1-2 at the Stadio Giovanni Zini in Cremona! This was the first win of the season for Cremonese!

After three consecutive victories, matches in which they didn’t concede a goal, the champion AC Milan is back among the Serie A leaders. AC Milan is in third place and has a tough away match against Fiorentina who just won 3-0 against Verona.

With three defeats in the last four rounds, Atalanta can’t seem to keep up in the fight for a Champions League spot. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are visited by 10th-placed Udinese. Since the start of the year, Udinese have only recorded one win, six rounds ago, 1-0 away to Sampdoria. Otherwise, four draws and four defeats.

Sampdoria and Cremonese have apparently lost the fight to avoid relegation. The gap between the bottom two in the Serie A standings is growing from stage to stage. Under these circumstances, the fight to avoid the last place that leads to Serie B relegation, the 18th place, currently occupied by Verona, who will play this round at away at Spezia, 17th place, remains interesting! A win for Verona would see the two sides change places.
