Welcome back to the Premier League section of the Bets.ai blog! Eleven rounds have elapsed in the current Premier League season: Liverpool leads the standings, no team is undefeated, no team is without a win, Nottingham Forest occupies the 5th position and no less than seven teams are within 1 point distance of each other (from 3rd to 9th place). Nothing new under the sun: Manchester United is still the shadow of the former great team from two decades ago.
Chelsea is having a much better season than the previous one and looks like they will fight for the Top 4 again. Crystal Palace look nothing like last season’s team and if things don’t improve quickly we could see Palace relegated this year. Leicester is back in the Premier League, Jamie Vardy continues to score, and until last round they managed to score at least one goal in every game they played. About Tottenham Hotspur we will write only this: you can strategically bet against them with great confidence – the north londoners have 5 defeats in their first 11 matches. We expect this trend to continue throughout the season.
Round 12 has no derby, but rather matches with a clear favorite. Making his debut as a coach for Manchester United will be the Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, brought in urgently from Sporting Lisbon to repair something after the worst start to a season since 1992. Will Amorim be able to turn the team around? Obviously not. Neither Messi, Ronaldo, Rooney and Van Nisterlooy rejuvenated and thrown into the starting line-up would make any difference. Maybe only with Scholes and Ryan Giggs in the middle. And Alex Ferguson as coach. But even then there would be the problem of the defense… and of the goalkeeper… A lot of ‘’ifs’’ and a lot of ‘’buts’’. Manchester United was and is a team to avoid when betting.
Chelsea will travel to Leicester, and we are now estimating, before seeing the odds that the artificial intelligence is going to give us at the end of the week, that this will be a high-scoring game. The same seems to be the case at Southampton where last place meets the first-place team (we remember of course that spectacular 4-4 two seasons ago) and although ”the saints” seem to be waving us goodbye, again, the match won’t necessarily be an extremely easy one for Liverpool.
Tighter games but with a clear-on-paper favorite are Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace, Fulham vs Wolves and Arsenal vs Nottingham (note Nottingham is unbeaten in away games this season and so far the only team to beat Liverpool, 0-1 at Anfield Road).
Bournemouth vs Brighton, Everton vs Brentford and Newcastle vs West Ham are balanced matches where we don’t think we will see many goals. The meeting between Manchester City and Tottenham is a highly anticipated one as City is coming off 4 consecutive defeats (two in the league, one in the Cup – right against Tottenham, and one in the UCL). Will City bounce back, and will they be able to win? We don’t know. What we estimate is that most likely will be a high-scoring match in which both teams will score.
The Premier League remains the most beautiful and spectacular league in the world. Nothing is decided. There are still 27 rounds to be played. There are fantastic matches to watch, unexpected results are sure to come, and from a betting point of view the Premier League remains the most efficient league to bet on. Stay tuned to Bets.ai for a fabulous season.
