The away defeat at Monaco three rounds ago woke up champions Paris Saint-Germain, who rallied to beat two strong opponents in turn, Lille and Marseille. PSG are now eight points clear of second-placed Olympique de Marseille and look capable of holding on to the top spot until the end. The Parisians will be visited this weekend by former champions Nantes, a 13th-placed side coming off two consecutive defeats.

Second-placed Marseille, the last team to secure a direct Champions League group place, are just two points ahead of Monaco and Lens. Igor Tudor’s team will travel to fifth-placed Rennes, who are in good form after two wins in the last two rounds. Rennes’ last win against OM was last season, on 14 May 2022, at home, 2-0.

AS Monaco play this round at the Stade de l’Aube against Troyes the penultimate place of Ligue 1. Troyes are coming off five consecutive defeats and have only one home win this season, 3-1 against Angers on 28 August!

Interesting match at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens between the local side, 4th in the standings, and Lille, 6th. The two sides are separated by six points. For Lille it could be one of the last chances to hope for a Champions League place.

With an enthusiastic run of six wins and two draws in the last eight rounds, Nice welcome 16th-placed Auxerre, who are coming off a good run of two draws and two wins in the last four rounds. Nice will not have an easy match.

Unbeaten in the last three rounds, Montpellier play at home to Angers, bottom of Ligue 1. A win for the hosts would make Angers’ rescue mission impossible.
