Chelsea’s new star is ukrainian Mudryk. He has already made his debut vs Liverpool. The Londoners are having a miserable season, they are mid-table in the Premier League. At the same time, with Mudryk they have their future on their side. They’ve already bought him. Expensive, but the future is always worth the money.
Chelsea is in decline. Without Roman Abramovich, the club has found new owners and looked for a new direction. Thomas Tuchel was also changed, but Graham Potter was not able to do miracles and the drift continued.
A new Modric, fit for the 2020s?
Chelsea, on the other hand, have swooped for Mykhailo Petrovych Mudryk from Arsenal. And this is the biggest talent Ukraine has offered since Shevchenko.
Mudryk, who is seen by many as the next winner of the Ballon d’Or from beyond the Iron Curtain, the first after Modric, was purchased with tens of millions of pounds. And millions of that money will also go to Ukrainians suffering now from political battles. Literally thousands and thousands will live because of Mudryk. But this is a story from beyond the turf.
The man who wants to do it all
In the arena, Mudryk has already shown what he can do. Take a good look at him, now while he’s still uncovered by tattoos, after the fashion of the XXI century. In his early days in the Premier League, Mudryk wants to be everywhere, he’s only twenty-two and has no experience of finding shortcuts. He doesn’t shy away from passes and wants to be at the centre of all phases. He’s ambitious, can dribble and, most importantly, has two more extra-gears than any of the other Chelsea players.
Raising a question: how can Mudryk be stopped?
Chelsea is probably the team that has missed out on the most transfers in the third millennium, they have bought big and expensive and have never managed to get, for example, a number 9.
But Mudryk has all the data not to become another name on the long list of failures. They’ve given him the number 15 jersey, a curse-free number, and if he doesn’t lose his mind in London, as other Eastern Europeans have, he’ll have a great career.
Let’s make it as clear as we can: Mudryk has years of contract and hundreds of Premier League games ahead of him. So far we’ve only seen him in one, but the question that will be raised by Chelsea’s opponents before the matches will be: how do we stop Mudryk? Even more clearly: How can Mudryk be stopped?
Mykhailo Petrovych, Mikhail son of Peter, plays as wing, can fly, gives hope and is at this moment on the British island the bet with the best chance of success.
